Tai Chi
Tai Chi can be called a meditative exercise
for the body. Many of the movements in Tai Chi are originally derived
from Chinese martial arts, although the way they are performed in
Tai Chi is slow, soft and graceful with smooth transitions between them.
Wushu
Wushu literally means martial art. The term
"Kung Fu" refers especially to Chinese martial arts, but in China it is
also used as a general term for any martial art.
Today it is common to use the term Wushu as the name for the modern
styles of Chinese martial arts that are practiced solely for exhibition
and competition.
In Ruyi Long Wushu Association Chang Quan, Nan Quan, Fanzi Quan,
Tongbei Quan, Gun Shu, Iian Shu, Dao Shu and Qiang Shu are taught.
Chang Quan is the most widely seen and includes for example whirling,
running, leaping and acrobatics.
